Prima’s Managing Director, Brendan Wavell-Smith, has had the pleasure of meeting Secure Access Managing Director, Jason Garland and his team, at numerous Caloundra Chamber Commerce events. The two managing directors share an affinity and don’t mind the odd beverage or two together. Brendan likens Jason to a cross between Steve Jobbs and John Wayne!
Secure Access are the Sunshine Coast’s leading technology and cyber security firm, based in central Maroochydore for the past 24 years. With a high focus on certified staff, and Microsoft accreditation, their reputation has driven and national and international client base. They are community-driven and support many charities on the Sunshine Coast.
Secure Access approached Prima for a refit of their office. Driving the fitout was that they had been in their tenancy for 16 years and the lease was expiring. The company had been experiencing substantial growth and were weighing up moving to a larger, less-central premises in the Aura semi-industrial estate or whether the existing Maroochydore tenancy could be refitted to manage their growth and accommodate their next 15 years on the Sunshine Coast.
After 3 – 4 months of consultation and planning with Prima, it was agreed that the company’s growth could facilitated by refitting the existing tenancy. Management loved that they could have their whole team based in a central location as it was convenient and meant a quick response time for their clients.
The Secure Access team had some fun and quirky design ideas which Prima was able to incorporate into the build. Not only achieving great social spaces for the extended team to congregate, collaborate in, and celebrate company milestones in, we also were able to achieve a large boardroom, aptly named “The Situation Room”.
A highlight of the refit was the installation of the café. Management have noticed that staff no longer leave the office for lunch and prefer to gather and collaborate in the café, which a great, productive team-building experience. Prima thoroughly enjoyed working with the team at Secure Access and pride this as one of their best fitouts to date.

One of our most challenging and exciting projects to date, was the Gold’s Gym fitout in Kippa-Ring . After having built Colour Capital’s head office, they came to us when they acquired the rights for Gold’s Gym Australia and New Zealand to assist in transforming a Brisbane Target store into their flagship gymnasium for Australia. From the very first meeting with Gold’s Gym Australia Chief Operating Officer, Glen Farrow, we were immediately invested in the business fitout project. Glen showed us a drone fly-through of Gold’s Gym Berlin world-wide flagship facility and said that the design brief was to replicate that in Brisbane.
After working through the gym fitout design phase, it was most enjoyable working with the landlord’s project team from QIC (Qld Investment Corporation) and with the operations team from both Gold’s Gym and Raw Energy. The strength of that team enabled us to navigate a building industry in crisis and deliver the facility for a grand opening on the 20th January 2022.
We look forward to creating more exciting spaces with Gold’s Gym Australia in the near future!

CARDNO engaged Prima Commercial Fitouts to assist in relocating operations from a 650 sqm Sunshine Coast tenancy to a smaller and more flexible tenancy located within the brand-new Foundation Place Building in the heart of the new Maroochydore City Centre. Working alongside COX Architecture as consulting architects, the new commercial office fitout captures what the now ‘Post-COVID Office’ is all about, with the inclusion of flexible workstations and collaboration spaces for staff sharing their working time between the office and home.
The unique aspect of this workspace is the placement of the Kitchen & Breakout Area, which is located at the entrance, extending an initial warm invitation into the social heart of the office.
Eloff & Andrews Clinical Psychology

Eloff & Andrews Clinical Psychology chose Prima Commercial Fitouts to assist them with expanding their ever-growing mental-health service practices with a brand-new clinic in the booming suburb of Birtinya on the Sunshine Coast.
To be able to fit 10 generous consulting rooms, two telehealth acoustic phone pods, a kitchen/breakout area, restroom facilities and a kids room, the office fitout needed to be a unique and tailor-made environment. Prima were able to design and create a stylish, warm and welcoming psychology clinic fitout which facilitates both privacy and functionality for EA Psychology’s leading health-care services.
STEPS Staffing Solutions

To be able to facilitate their rapid growth, STEPS Staffing Solutions needed to expand their inherited workplace fitout design. Fast and functional solutions were needed to be able to double their existing staffing population from 5 to 11 and also to be able to provide comfortable and private areas for clients. The completed sleek and modern workspace includes a small Boardroom with views to the beautiful Cotton Tree Beach, a private Interview Room, three private offices, Open Plan Office, Reception, Kitchen and Breakout Area.

The team at MGA Insurance Brokers were in need of a mid-life upgrade of their existing Maroochydore office. Prima Commercial Fitouts were able to convert the tired existing workspace into a vibrant Open Plan environment with the use of height adjustable workstations and vertical gardens throughout. The turn-key solution was able to be delivered in a matter of weeks with minimal disruption to operations.
